Our Annual Event is Coming in April!
Join us Thursday April 26, 2012 from 4-7pm for Financial Beginnings’ annual fundraising event at Urban Studio located at 935 NW Davis Street in Downtown Portland. Join us and play The Game of Life! Together we will test our professional knowledge, take chances, challenge the competition and win great prizes, all to raise needed funds to support our free financial education programs.
We are looking for donations to use as prizes for our event games. Please spread the word that we are lookings for: wine, restaurant or coffee shop certificates, spa certificates, event tickets, and lodging stays!

Here’s another sneak peak at one of the seven Game of Life games we have planned at Financial Beginnings’ upcoming FUNdraising event:
Wheel of Fortune (or Misfortune)!
We don’t have Vanna White but we do have great prizes for this Wheel of Fortune game. Spin the wheel and instantly win dining for two, a bottle of wine or any one of our other fun prizes. Land on the Grand Prize placeholder? We will enter you into a Grand Prize drawing for $1,000 towards an Oregon 529 College Savings Plan. Who knew saving for college could be so fun!
Challenge your co-workers, spar with your spouse, and face off with fellow Financial Beginnings’ supporters. We promise this year’s annual event won’t be Just Another Fundraiser.
Reserve your spot and buy your tickets today! Tickets cost $35 per person with discounted tickets ($25) available for volunteers and educators. Tickets include one full round of all seven games and a drink ticket. Have your eye on a particular prize package? Additional tickets will be available to play individual games à la carte during the event.

Unraveling the Mysteries of Your Money
Have you ever had a question about finances and never knew who to ask? This is your chance to ask it! Operation HOPE, Financial Beginnings and Portland State University are organizing a panel of financial experts to help you answer your burning money questions on Tuesday April 24th from 6:30-8pm at Portland State University.

Join Oregon Jump$tart for lunch on April 20 at the Courtyard Marriot in Downtown Portland as they kick-off Oregon Money Smart Week (April 21-28) at the end of Financial Literacy Month. This is a great opportunity to learn about financial education efforts throughout the state and network with similar minded individuals and organizations. The keynote speaker is Pam Krueger, host of the national PBS Public Television Series MoneyTrack.
