Our Board



Kay Wolfe, President

Wolfe is a native of Grants Pass, Oregon and graduated from Whitworth College in Spokane. She has a background in outdoor advertising and in 1992 launched a career in residential lending. Wolfe has worked for HomeStreet Bank for the past six years and is a residential loan officer for the bank’s NW Portland branch at 23rd Avenue and Burnside. Wolfe joined the NHBA Board of Directors in 2004. In her spare time, she volunteers with the Community Transitional School.


Briana Borten, Vice President

Briana Borten is the owner of the Dragontree Holistic Day Spa and the Clearing Cafe, both on NW Thurman Street. She is a Certified Ayurvedic Specialist and licensed massage therapist with a background in art and design. She sees her businesses as vehicles for promoting peace and supporting the local community and economy. She is a member of Think Local First, HUB Portland (a networking and community service group), and Women Entrepreneurs of Oregon. In her spare time, she enjoys playing with her daughter and husband, dancing, and being outside.


Loreen Officer, Secretary

Officer graduated from Lake Oswego High School in 1966 and worked as a US West manager in Seattle for 17 years. She received her BA in Marketing from Seattle Pacific University in 1989, when she began a second career with Windermere Real Estate in Seattle. Officer returned to Portland in 1994 as a real estate broker and works for Windermere from the company’s Nob Hill offices at NW 21st Avenue and Irving.

Peggy Anderson, At-Large Board Member

Anderson is a Business Development Manager for the Portland Business Alliance and is past President of the Nob Hill Neighborhood Business Association.


Julie Bond, Board Member

Julie Bond and her husband Alex own Serratto Restaurant at 2112 NW Kearney. Bond led the Silent Auction and children’s area efforts for the Fall Fest Northwest 2007 community event. Bond has a technology marketing background, served as Marketing Director for Brodia, Product Marketing Director for Reel.com, and Senior Marketing Manager for Berkeley Systems. Bond earned her BA from the University of California at Berkeley, and she is the mother of two children.

Tom Mattox, Board Member

Tom Mattox is Community Outreach and Marketing Director for Food Front Cooperative Grocery in Northwest Portland. He has been involved in the cooperative movement for a number of years and also has a background in communications with various community groups and the Minneapolis, MN School District.

Brad Holland, Board Member

Holland began his career with HomeStreet Bank in 1999 as Branch Manager of the Lake Oswego office. He was promoted to Vice President/District Manager in February 2008 and manages the NW Portland office. An active member of the Lake Oswego business community, Holland is past president of the Lake Oswego Business District Association. Holland has 12 years in the banking industry, as well as 11 years of retail store management with Toys R Us and Target.

A. Nannette Taylor, Board Member

Her motto is "Educate, Enlighten, and Entertain". Nannette is the Executive Director of PHAME Academy, a non-profit performing and fine arts organization that works exclusively with developmentally disabled adults. Prior to her association with PHAME, she was the Executive Director of the National Audio Theatre Festivals. During her fifteen year tenure in Arizona, Nannette found herself immersed in a combination of Arts Presenting for Arizona State University, directing 19 award winning original plays in conjunction with nationally renowned playwright Terry Earp, and leading Artlink, Inc. a visual arts organization located in Phoenix, AZ. Prior to her move to Arizona, she resided in Portland, Or. where she was a founding member and the Executive Director of the award winning Columbia Theatre Company, an organization dedicated to presenting American Stage Classics and new works by Northwest Playwrights.
